JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is an anime television series produced by David Production that began airing in October 2012 on Tokyo MX. The multi-generational narrative adapts the supernatural adventure manga created by Hirohiko Araki.

Naokatsu Tsuda directed the television series alongside series director Kenichi Suzuki. Hayato Matsuo composed music for the opening storyline, and Taku Iwasaki scored the subsequent story arc. Kazuyuki Okitsu voiced Victorian nobleman Jonathan Joestar, while Tomokazu Sugita voiced his American grandson Joseph Joestar. The initial 2012 season ran for 26 episodes across two parts: Phantom Blood through episode 9, and Battle Tendency through episode 26. Later seasons include Stardust Crusaders with 48 episodes, Diamond Is Unbreakable with 39 episodes, Golden Wind with 39 episodes, and Stone Ocean with 38 episodes.

In 19th-century England, young aristocrat Jonathan Joestar welcomes adopted street orphan Dio Brando into his family estate. Dio secretly plots to dismantle the Joestar household and usurp their massive fortune through systematic cruelty and deception. When Jonathan uncovers the conspiracy, Dio activates an ancient Aztec Stone Mask that turns him into an immortal vampire with terrifying supernatural powers. Jonathan learns the sacred solar martial art of Hamon under eccentric master Will A. Zeppeli to confront Dio and destroy the mask before humanity falls.

Crunchyroll streamed subtitled episodes overseas, while Warner Bros. Television Distribution licensed the North American English release alongside home distributor Viz Media. Television network Adult Swim broadcast an English dub across the United States on its Toonami schedule starting in October 2016. At the 2013 CEDEC Awards in Japan, the anime opening sequence won the Visual Arts Division prize for computer graphics innovation. Streaming service Netflix later acquired exclusive worldwide streaming distribution rights for Stone Ocean in December 2021. The Tokyo MX broadcast network concluded the fifth season television broadcast in April 2023.
