Mob Psycho 100

Mob Psycho 100 is an anime television series by Bones that began in July 2016 on Tokyo MX. Manga author ONE created the underlying web comic. Director Yuzuru Tachikawa directed the anime with character designs by Yoshimichi Kameda and musical scores by Kenji Kawai.

Eighth grader Shigeo Kageyama, nicknamed Mob due to his plain appearance, wields immense telekinetic powers that activate uncontrollably whenever his emotional stress level reaches 100%. Mob works part-time for Arataka Reigen, a self-styled spirit medium and con artist who relies on Mob to exorcise real ghosts for low pay. Fearing the harm his psychic gifts could cause to other people, Mob suppresses his emotional responses and avoids violent conflicts. He joins the school Body Improvement Club to build physical stamina and impress his childhood classmate Tsubomi Takane.

Voice performers Setsuo Itō and Takahiro Sakurai play Shigeo Kageyama and Arataka Reigen in the Japanese cast. Three television seasons delivered 37 episodes, spanning 12 episodes in 2016, 13 episodes in 2019, and 12 episodes in 2022. Director Takahiro Hasui stepped in to helm the third season alongside Tachikawa as chief director. A compilation film called Mob Psycho 100 Reigen: The Miraculous Unknown Psychic screened in Japanese theaters in March 2018, accompanied by two original video animation episodes released in 2018 and 2019.

In English-speaking regions, Crunchyroll began streaming the anime with English subtitles in July 2016 before Funimation released an English dub. At the inaugural Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2017, the anime won Best Action and Best Fight Scene for Shigeo versus Koyama. The second season earned Best Animation and Best Opening Sequence for the theme song 99.9 at the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Animator Yoshimichi Kameda created the jacket illustration for the official drama CD, and Shogakukan published a dedicated series fanbook in November 2022.
